Flickr is the most popular photo sharing site, where millions of people all over the world share billions of photos. Photographers from all walks of life are represented and with the right mixture of Title, description and tagging, you can use the site also to increase awareness about your organization or issue. And because it is so popular the developers of Flickr also provide cutting edge sharing tools for you and your web site.
One feature is the embedding of a Flickr slide show into your post. The example here is a set of pictures I photographed of Lake Trafford, Immokalee while riding on an Airboat. We took of at the Lake Trafford Marina, Alligators and Airboats is the name of the company.
How did I do this? First I uploaded all the pictures to Flickr and created a “Set” named it “Lake Trafford”.
On the “Set” view page in the upper right corner you’ll find a SlideShow button
When you click on it you’ll see the slide show, in the upper right corner you see a “Share” link that will open up a box like the one below.
“Grab the HTML Embed code” by clicking on the “copy to clipboard” link.
Back to your Edit post/page window, switch the body area from Visual to HTML by clicking on the HTML tab and paste the previously copied code into the area, where you would like to have the slide show appear.

When going back to the Visual view in the edit box, you’ll see a light yellow box which is the representation of your slide show while adding additional text before and after into your post/page.
Now click on “Update” to save it and View Post to see if it works for you.

Wonderful way to share expertise.
Thank you, Shelley! Let me know if there is a topic that comes before you we could write about here or on other NFN sites.
Thank you for this post.
What do you think I am doing wrong whereby I do not get that yellow box? When I follow your instructions and embed the slideshow it appears on the page, but I don’t see the yellow box in visual view.
You may be wondering why I care if the slideshow is showing on my page, but I am trying to troubleshoot the reason that my slideshows have stopped appearing in my RSS driven email campaigns.
If you have any ideas on this issue, let me know. Thank you so much in advance of your help!
Best, Katie
Katie, sorry I didn’t see your question earlier.
If I understand your comment correctly, the slideshows is working fine on the website but doesn’t not appear in the e-mail. As your campaign is RSS driven, does it show when you put the RSS feeds address into a browser window?
If you have a URL for me of the post of the slideshow and the url rss feed. I might be able to actually answer your questions, without having a ton of questions
Glad you found my post helpful!
